About us

Welcome to Atrium Osteopathy, conveniently located close to Melbourne, where an understanding of your body and the achievement of your goals for your health is our top priority.
The information on this page is designed to help you get the most from your experience of our manual therapy techniques.
One of our strongest beliefs is that the body has its own ability to heal. It is important you remember that the manual therapy techniques we use can only facilitate your healing process. We will gently remind you of this during the treatment.
Our choice of manual therapy technique relates to our individual diagnosis of each person. The techniques we use include soft tissue technique, stretching, muscle energy technique, myofascial release, cranio-sacral osteopathy / cranial osteopath techniques and high velocity manipulation.
Please discuss any concerns you may have about any of these techniques at any time throughout the treatment process.
Some people will experience temporary pain after a treatment. This is generally a positive sign that your body has made postural changes and normally remains for up to three days after a treatment.
Please feel that you can call and discuss any concerns you have with either your individual practitioner or any of the other practitioners in the osteopathic clinic
An Osteopathic Treatment ends when significant tissue change has occurred. This may take a shorter or longer period of time for different people. We always try to give each patient the amount of treatment they need on any given day.
This means that sometimes we may run a little late because a patient in need has required more time. If you are one who is held up, we will offer you the courtesy of allowing more time for your treatment if it is needed.
Generally we treat a new patient for 45 minutes and a returning patient for 30 minutes.
You will be charged a fee if you do not give us at least 24 hours to change or cancel an appointment. We do this because we value our time and because we often have a waiting list of patients who can fill a vacancy if given enough notice.
We expect payment on the day of treatment and you have a choice of paying by cash, cheque, credit card or eftpos.
Please feel free to ask us any questions before your treatment begins or at any stage in the treatment process. We value your feedback.
