Helping people find their path to health is what motivates me to get up every morning.

My journey, from personal trainer to remedial massage therapist, and eventually to osteopath, taught me a profound truth: while many individuals develop better ways to cope and stay active despite pain, they often still feel limited, unable to fully engage in life. Regardless of the approach—whether it is exercise, deep tissue massage, spinal manipulation, or dry needling—certain parts of the body remain stiff and restricted, leading to ongoing discomfort.

Each patient’s story has fuelled my passion and commitment to finding the most effective ways to assist them. Deep down, I have always believed that many of the chronic conditions I encountered in the clinic or gym could be improved faster than is commonly accepted, but I did not yet have the tools to make this a reality.

My quest for knowledge took me across Australia and overseas, as I sought ways to provide my patients with the highest standard of care possible. Before graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathy, I had completed nearly 40 courses, driven by a desire to uncover solutions that truly make a difference. Yet, I remained unsatisfied with the outcomes I was observing in the clinic.

A turning point came during one of these courses when I met an individual who offered to assist with my own chronic hip pain—a challenge I had been facing for three years since moving to Australia. His approach was unlike anything I had experienced before. He gently located tender spots in parts of my body that seemed, at first glance, unrelated to my hip pain. Then, within minutes, he carefully positioned my body and made gentle adjustments near my stomach, which transformed my pain. Those once sore areas became entirely comfortable, and I was amazed at how this method could unlock relief where I had previously felt hopeless.

This experience led me to Dr. Syed Hussein, who introduced the fascial counter-strain method to Australia. In my free time, I began travelling to observe his practice and to learn more about this transformative technique—sometimes even bringing along patients with complex issues that I was not yet able to resolve. Approximately one year after graduation, I completed the comprehensive FCS curriculum, which delves into the physiology of chronic inflammation and how to address it by working with the micro-lymphatic vessels found in almost all body’s myofascial subs-systems that includes structures such as ligaments, discs, nerves, organs, arteries, and veins.

An insatiable pursuit for knowledge, led me to travel multiple times to the United States to learn directly from the technique’s founders, Brian Tuckey and Timothy Hodges. This experience allowed me to join a select group of therapists in Australia dedicated to advancing this field, including participation in an instructor training program that currently includes only 46 practitioners worldwide.

Reflecting on my journey, I recognise the long and challenging road I have travelled—filled with hours of volunteering and a commitment to lifelong learning. However, it is my genuine desire to improve people’s lives that has driven me forward, leading me to discover approaches that allow for optimal, and occasionally extraordinary, results.
